(... a few hours into and out of an NYC to PDX long weekend. The rest of the trip = great brunches, badical hikes and terrible donuts. Fin.)

Track 2, Secaucus
An amphibious (or British) man of 65 or so is grading papers next to me, hurrumph-ing with his aura. Even with my 3rd Walgreens band-aid of the day curling a blackening around the edges and barely covering a 9-day old thumb slice wound compounding the red marker misery to my right, I'm more concerned with the slouched gentleman to my left, whose lumpy nose is a hybrid of W.C. Fields', Bukowski's and a Monitor Lizard's.
4:51 LIRR to Jamaica
Christine snuck up on me as I was waiting to buy water @ D&D. A second later, I gave a homeless man $1 and he beamed slowly and warmly. Most fully human interaction I'd had all day to that point. Greeting C, I began to complain about the dirty band-aid, but before I could complete the whine, she led my eyes to a bakery box she was holding. Vegan cupcakes from Babycakes. I've been workin out and juicing collards and whatnots lately, but I'm on vacay and these vacakes are going in my face. We pawed at them until a shame fog hovered and arrived at the Air Train too early for me to snap some of the sunset over Queens.
6pm, JFK
The Jet Blue terminal is kinda cool, though Sky Asian Bistro isn't fit to scrape Panda Express' woks ( by horrific food court Chinese benchmarks.) I labored through the broccoli-shaped hoison-flavored goo stumps aren't boding well for the flight.
